Main Basic Explained
Delta retired the "Basic Economy" name in 2025 and rebranded its fare ladder as Main Basic, Main Classic and Main Extra. The underlying baggage rules carried over largely unchanged through the rename.
On domestic US, transatlantic and South American routes, Main Basic charges for every checked bag. On long-haul transpacific routes, including Australia, Main Basic includes one free checked bag, the same as Main Classic.
